Billing and payment methods
This page shows you what is on the Billing page and what to do when a payment does not go through.
Receipts and invoice history
Section titled “Receipts and invoice history”monaiq.com/manage/billing holds your invoice history: every invoice raised against you, from every seller you buy from, in one list. Each receipt email we send links back to this page, so you do not have to keep the email to find the record.
An invoice covers a billing period for a license. If the product you bought meters usage as well as charging for the period, that usage is billed for the period too; see Consumption and metering for how metered features work.
Currencies
Section titled “Currencies”Sellers set their own prices and choose the currency. Amounts in US dollars, Canadian dollars, euros and pounds sterling show as $, CA$, € and £. Any other currency shows as its currency code next to the amount, so you can always tell which one you are being charged in.
Payment methods
Section titled “Payment methods”Payment methods are held per seller, not once for your whole account. If you buy from three sellers, you have three payment methods on file, and changing one does not touch the others. The Billing page lists them so you can see what is on file where.
To change one, use “Update payment method”. That opens a page hosted by Stripe where you enter the card details, and Stripe returns you to the Billing page when you are done. Monaiq does not handle the card details themselves.
We email you when a card is about to expire. That email links straight to the Stripe page for updating it, so you can fix it before a payment fails.
When a payment fails
Section titled “When a payment fails”We email you, and the subscription is suspended until payment succeeds.
Payment is retried automatically, so a failure caused by a temporary decline often resolves without you doing anything. If the retries keep failing, the card is usually the problem. Update it from the Billing page using “Update payment method”, and the next successful payment lifts the suspension.
If you would rather stop the subscription than fix the payment, cancel it from the license instead: see Your licenses.
Refunds
Section titled “Refunds”Refunds are issued by the seller you bought from, not from this page. What a refund does and does not do to your access is covered in Trials and refunds.
