Pricing and fees
This page states what selling on Monaiq costs you, and what your customers pay.
There are two separate charges and neither replaces the other. A platform plan is what you pay Monaiq for the platform itself, billed monthly. The platform fee is what Monaiq takes out of each sale you make. Buying on Monaiq is free, so if you are only a customer here, neither applies to you.
Monaiq is in preview
Section titled “Monaiq is in preview”Monaiq is running a preview program. While it runs, every builder can hold the Preview plan, free:
- It costs nothing, and it renews monthly at nothing.
- Everything is included. Preview grants the same allowances as the Scale package.
- No credit card. There is nothing to enter and nothing to cancel.
- You pick it up yourself, from the become-a-seller wizard in your profile. It is not applied to your account for you.
Preview is a listed offering on the marketplace like any other, sold by Monaiq’s own seller account. The first thing for sale on Monaiq is Monaiq.
When the preview program ends, new sign-ups to Preview stop first. If you already hold it, it keeps running until we give you notice, and when that notice runs out you choose a plan or start the trial. Licenses you have already issued to your own customers are not affected either way.
The packages
Section titled “The packages”These packages are not on sale during the preview program. They open when it ends.
Prices are in Canadian dollars, billed monthly. They are introductory: we are calibrating them during the preview program and they may change before general availability.

Rows marked “Coming” are on the roadmap for that package and are not built yet. The mark comes off when the feature ships.
Entry is for a first product and a first dollar. Growth is the package to be on once you are running a catalog and iterating on price, which is why unlimited paid price points start there. Scale is for a business.
What the allowances mean
Section titled “What the allowances mean”The counts are allowances, not walls.
- Products is how many products you may have.
- Licenses a month counts the licenses you issue in a calendar month. You are warned as you approach it, and only well past it do new sales pause on your plan. Licenses you have already issued keep validating, and your customers see nothing.
- Metered units included is how much recorded usage the plan covers per month. It is an allowance and never a cap: usage is always recorded, so your own billing stays correct.
- MCP throughput scales with the plan. The exact numbers are being set during the preview program.

The trial
Section titled “The trial”After the preview program there is a trial plan: 7 days, everything included, and no card. You start it deliberately, from the become-a-seller wizard, when you are ready to sell. It is not started for you and it does not renew. One per account.
Changing package
Section titled “Changing package”Once the packages are on sale, upgrading and downgrading are the same motion: you buy the package you want. It takes effect when you buy it and replaces the one you were on.
Changes are not prorated. The plan you are leaving is not refunded for the rest of its month, and the one you are moving to starts a fresh month.
What a package never limits
Section titled “What a package never limits”Your customers are not on your plan. None of the following depends on which plan you hold:
- Issuing and validating your customers’ licenses
- Public key lookup, so your own app can verify offline
- Recording usage
- Provisioning a license after a customer pays
- License delivery emails
- Refunding a customer
- Your buyers’ own pages, and their renewal billing
- Rotating your API keys
- Your listing on the marketplace
- MCP access, and the SDKs
What Monaiq charges on a sale
Section titled “What Monaiq charges on a sale”The platform fee is separate from your plan and has not changed.
Monaiq’s fee is 7% of each sale. The rest of the sale is yours and reaches you as a Stripe payout to your bank account. There is nothing to set up beyond your Stripe onboarding, and during the preview program there is nothing to pay up front either.
For a subscription, the fee applies to every payment, not just the first one. We bill your customer each period, and 7% of each of those payments is the platform fee.

7% is the rate every seller starts on. The fee is set per seller, so a different rate is possible, but it is something we would agree with you rather than something you set.
When the rate can change
Section titled “When the rate can change”You get 30 days’ notice before your fee rate changes. The rate in force at the time of a sale governs that sale, so a change never reaches back into money you have already taken.
What happens on a refund
Section titled “What happens on a refund”You issue refunds yourself, from the invoice detail page in the portal. When you do, the platform fee is reversed in proportion to the amount refunded: refund half a sale and half the fee comes back.
Note that a refund does not by itself end the buyer’s license. Returning the money and withdrawing access are separate things. Get paid covers the refund flow.
What your buyers pay
Section titled “What your buyers pay”Your buyers pay the price you set, on the schedule you set, in the currency you set. Monaiq does not add anything to your price at checkout, and your plan does not change what they pay.
Prices are shown to buyers with a currency symbol where there is a familiar one, and with the currency code otherwise.

Where an offering has a free trial, it runs 7 days and lets a buyer start without paying. Trials do not auto-renew. Products and offerings explains how price, schedule and trial fit together on an offering.
Getting paid
Section titled “Getting paid”Payouts run through Stripe, to the bank account you gave Stripe during onboarding. Monaiq never sees your bank details or your customers’ card details. Get paid covers invoices, payouts and failed customer payments.
The agreement of record
Section titled “The agreement of record”The seller agreement is the document that states the fee, the notice period and everything else about selling here. Where this page and the agreement differ, the agreement is what governs.
